Act One[edit | edit source]

The Blue Jay is a bird of dubious morals which can first be encountered on the road to Rosymorn Monastery hovering alongside a small nest which contains a key. He can be spoken to via Speak with Animals Speak with Animals. When pressed, he coyly admits he stole the nest from "some poor little tit who wasn't paying attention."

Talking to him about the ethics of stealing nests causes him to mention the eagles on top of of the monastery. He then states that the party do not even need it to catch the "drunk lizards". The party can then try and ascertain what those drunk lizards might be:

  • [NATURE] Try and figure out what these lizards might be. (DC 14)

The party can also threaten to eat the Blue Jay, scaring him off:

  • [DECEPTION] I'm here to avenge the bird you kicked out. Time to shove off. (DC 14)
  • It's about to get less fair. You have to leave this nest now, or else.
  • Attack the whiny bird.

The Blue Jay attempts to recruit the party to take back "its" nest from the Giant Eagles atop the monastery roof, which initiates Reclaim the Blue Jay's Nest Reclaim the Blue Jay's Nest. Upon completion, he reveals the location of a hidden stash on the region map.
