Bloated Hyena is a hyena variant found along the Risen Road in Act One.

Bloated Hyenas serve as incubators to newborn gnolls and give birth in a grisly eruption if not dispatched quickly.

One of the Bloated Hyena can be spoken to by using 
Speak with Animals, allowing the party to eliminate it before it gives birth by passing a 
DC 12 Dexterity check.
