The Ancient Giant Eagle is a type of beast creature found in her nest atop the roof of the Rosymorn Monastery in Act One of Baldur's Gate 3.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

The Ancient Giant Eagle can be found perched in her nest with her son XavierXavier wandering around the roof. If approaching without Speak with AnimalsSpeak with Animals and being spotted, Xavier and his mother immediately screech and prepare to attack the party, unless the talking party member passes an animal handling check:

  • [ANIMAL HANDLING] Turn away from the eagle as you approach, indicating that you are not interested in its nest. (DC 18)

If using Speak with Animals, the Ancient Giant Eagle calls the party intruders and tells Xavier to get behind her. The talking party member can then attempt to persuade her that they are only interested in the big device behind her:

  • [PERSUASION] I'm just interested in the big device, I promise to not meddle with the nest. (DC 15)

Passing either check allows the party to explore the entirety of the roof area without interruption. Otherwise, the eagles immediately become hostile and attack the party.
