Verres Major

Verres Major is a boar summoned via a Beast Master's  Boar Companion ability, a variant of  Ranger's Companion. Verres Major is upgraded from  Verres once the Beast Master reaches level 5, and becomes  Verres Calamitosus once the Beast Master reaches level 11.

Charge forward, attacking all enemies in the way and possibly knocking them  Prone.

Doesn't provoke Opportunity Attacks.

1d6 + 2⁠Slashing

Gore a target.

 Melee: 1.5 m / 5 ft

 Rage ()

Go into a frenzy, increasing your size and becoming stronger through raw anger.

While raging, your melee attacks deal an additional 2+1d4Slashing^{[See Notes]} damage and you are  Enlarged^{[See Notes]}.

You gain Resistance to physical damage, and Advantage on Strength Checks and Saving Throws.

 Frenzied Strike ()

1d6 + 2⁠Slashing

Gore an enemy as a bonus action while in a fit of rage.

 Melee: 1.5 m / 5 ft

Because of the  Prey's Scent passive, Beast Master rangers may wish to attack the target marked by  Hunter's Mark for optimal damage.

At higher levels

As the Ranger gains levels, Verres Major will grow as well until it transforms into  Verres Calamitosus at level 11:

Cover more distance this turn: double your Movement Speed.

Retreat safely. Moving won't provoke Opportunity Attacks.

Help an ally in need. Remove  Burning,  Downed,  Ensnared,  Entangled,  Enwebbed, Prone,  Sleeping.

• Verres Major has  51 hit points (102 on Explorer difficulty) and 15  Armour Class.
