  • The summoned wolf companion derives its name from Latin:[1]
    • Lupus – wolf
    • Lupus Major – great wolf
    • Lupus Optumus – best wolf

Footnotes[edit | edit source]

  1. Notably Major and Optumus are incompatible inflections. Optumus is an alternate form of optimus, the superlative of bonus, while Major is an alternative form of maior, the comparative degree of magnus. The correct sequence would have either been Lupus, Lupus Maior/Major, and Lupus Maximus or Lupus, Lupus Melior, and Lupus Optumus/Optimus.
