Sorcery Point is a class specific resources for Sorcerers.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Sorcerers can use Sorcery Points to fuel their Metamagic or they can be turned into spell slots. They, like all resources, are displayed above a character's hotbar next to their other resources such as Actions, Bonus Actions, and Level 1 Spell SlotSpell Slots.

Sorcery Points are recovered on a long rest.

Gaining Sorcery Points[edit | edit source]

Sorcerers are the only class able to aquire and use Sorcery Points, and they gain more as their class level increases. Starting at level 2, and extending to level 12 sorcerers gain points equal to their sorcerer level each long rest.

Gaining and Exchanging Sorcery Points[edit | edit source]

Unlike many other resource in the game, there are no items in Baldur's Gate 3 that directly recover Sorcery Points, however sorcerers have the ability to transform a Level 1 Spell Slot Spell Slot of any level into Sorcery Point freely using Create Sorcery Points Create Sorcery Points. The amount recovered is equal to the level of the spell slot used.

Additionally Sorcery Points can also be turned into spell slots using Create Spell Slot Create Spell Slot. It is not possible to make spell slots above fifth level, and the cost is neither equal nor linear, like it is when doing the reverse. The exchange rates are noted in the table below.
