Barbarian

Barbarian is a character Class in Baldur's Gate 3. Barbarians use their martial prowess and primal rage to strengthen themselves and dominate enemies in combat. Barbarians' key ability scores are Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution.

Barbarian's default armour

• Level 1 Maximum Hit Points: 12 + Constitution Modifier
  • Hit points at higher levels: 7 + Constitution Modifier
• Key Ability Scores:
  • Strength for improved Attack Rolls and damage with melee weapons.
  • Dexterity for higher Initiative and Armour Class.
  • Constitution for more Hit Points.
• Saving Throw Proficiencies: Strength, Constitution
• Equipment Proficiencies:
  • Simple weapons, Martial weapons
  • Light armour, Medium armour
  • Shields

Skills

You receive a bonus to every Skill that you are Proficient in. This bonus increases as you gain levels in your Class and applies to all Checks for those Skills.

Level 1 Proficiency Bonus: +2

Level Progression

Through experience, you acquire new power. You gain the following traits:

Level 1

• Rage
• Rage Charges: 2 (The number of times you can Rage per day. Replenished by Long Rest).
• Unarmoured Defence: Your body is as resilient as any armour. While not wearing armour, you add your Constitution Modifier to your Armour Class. Wearing Heavy Armour impedes your Rage.

Level 2

• Reckless Attack
• Danger Sense: You sense when things aren't as they should be. You have Advantage on Dexterity Saving Throws against traps, spells and surfaces. To gain this benefit, you can't be Blinded, Deafened, or Incapacitated.

Level 3

• Rage Charges: 3 (Gain an additional Rage Charge. You can now Rage more times per Long Rest).

  • Improve an Ability Score by 2 or improve two Ability Scores by 1 (Ability Scores can not be raised higher than 20 using this feature).

Level 5

• Proficiency Bonus: +3 (You gain +1 to your Proficiency Bonus).
• Extra Attack: You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
• Fast Movement: Your Movement Speed increases by 1.5m / 5ft while not wearing Heavy Armour.
