Berserker is one of the Subclasses of Barbarian. These Barbarians are more specialized in using their anger to gain more abilities while raging in combat.

Subclass features[edit | edit source]

This subclass obtains all the features from its base class, Barbarian, in addition to its unique features outlined below.

Level 3

Rage Becomes Frenzy Rage Becomes Frenzy
Your bloodthirst transforms your rage, making it stronger.
Frenzy Frenzy (Bonus Action + Rage Charge)
Your Rage Rage turns into a frenzy! You gain Frenzied Strike Frenzied Strike and Enraged Throw Enraged Throw. You can also make an Improvised Melee Weapon Improvised Melee Weapon attack as a bonus action.
Frenzied Strike Frenzied Strike (Bonus Action)
As a bonus action, make a melee attack with your equipped weapon. ( Recharge: Per turn.)
Enraged Throw Enraged Throw (Bonus Action)
Pick up an item or creature and throw it at a target, dealing additional damage and knocking it Prone Prone.

Level 6

Mindless Rage Mindless Rage
Your rage becomes all-consuming, repelling outside influence. While Frenzied Frenzied, you can't be Charmed Charmed or Frightened Frightened, and Calm Emotions Calm Emotions no longer ends your rage.

Level 10

Intimidating Presence Intimidating Presence (Action)
Menace an enemy and instil a terrible Fear Fear within them.
You can use Maintain Intimidating Presence Maintain Intimidating Presence to prolong the target's fear.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The passive feature Rage Becomes Frenzy is not an available (bonus) action to select. Instead, it refers to a Berserker's ability to automatically enter a state of Frenzy, instead of Rage. Barbarians with the Berserker subclass have this passive listed under the Character Summary of Notable Features.
