Replacement characters are characters who have been designed in one way or another to replace other already-existing characters in the event of rare edge cases, both expected and unexpected user scenarios, and sequence breaks.
An example of this is 
, whose death in Act One leads to her being replaced with 
in Act Three; killing Boss Friol in the Act Three sequence 
leads to her role in , and by extension Roah Moonglow's original role, being assumed by 
instead.
