This article is about the on-hit reaction. For the corresponding passive feature, see Channel Divinity: Touch of Death.

Description
When hitting a creature with a melee attack, Channel Divinity Charges can be used to deal extra Necrotic damage.Properties
- Cost
- Channel Divinity Charge
- Damage: 5 + modifiers
5 + (2 × Cleric level)Necrotic
How to learn
Classes:
- Class level 2: Death Domain
Notes
- This can trigger from any melee attack roll, including spells which require a melee attack roll, such as Inflict Wounds and Vampiric Touch.
- When used with Vampiric Touch, this bonus damage does not increase the siphoned healing amount.
- Any spell with an attack roll can be turned into a melee attack spell with Daredevil Proximity allowing them to also trigger Touch of Death.
- In particular, Bone Chill also benefits from Reaper so it can make two melee attacks with a single cast while Daredevil Proximity is active. Touch of Death can be triggered against both targets, though this does require 2 Channel Divinity Charges as expected.
Bugs
- The tooltip incorrectly displays the bonus damage as 5 + 2d12Necrotic at all Cleric levels. It is displayed correctly in the combat log.
- A hidden technical condition, which is responsible for applying a visual effect to struck targets, triggers the passives from Boots of Stormy Clamour, Coldbrim Hat, and Diadem of Arcane Synergy.
