Death Domain

Death Domain is one of the subclasses of Cleric. It has potent features which boost necrotic spells and add necrotic damage to weapon attacks. Released as part of Patch 8 in 2025.

Player selectable Deities associated with this domain:  Kelemvor,  Laduguer,  Tiamat and  Shar (Shadowheart only).

Subclass features

This subclass obtains all the features from its base class, Cleric, in addition to its unique features outlined below.

Level 1

• Gain Martial weapons Proficiency

Reaper

Your Necromancy cantrips that only target 1 creature can target an additional creature.

Domain Spells

You gain additional spells from your domain. They are Always Prepared.

•  Bone Chill,  Bursting Sinew, or  Toll the Dead (your choice)
•  False Life
•  Ray of Sickness

Level 2

Touch of Death ()

When hitting a creature with a melee attack,  Channel Divinity Charges can be used to deal extra ⁠Necrotic damage.

Level 3

Domain Spells

You gain additional spells from your domain. They are Always Prepared.

•  Blindness
•  Ray of Enfeeblement 

Level 5

Domain Spells

You gain additional spells from your domain. They are Always Prepared.

•  Animate Dead
•  Vampiric Touch 

Level 6

Inescapable Destruction

Damage you deal ignores Resistance to ⁠Necrotic damage.

Level 7

Domain Spells

You gain additional spells from your domain. They are Always Prepared.

•  Blight
•  Death Ward

Level 8

 Divine Strike: Necrotic ()

Once per turn deal 1d8⁠⁠Necrotic in addition to your weapon's damage when you make a melee attack. ( Recharge: Per turn.)

Level 9

Domain Spells

You gain additional spells from your domain. They are Always Prepared.

•  Cloudkill 
•  Contagion
