Idle banter[edit | edit source]
Pheebs Splayfoot: All right, how much for the saltpetre, including fees?
- Trader Djingo: Depends. How many barrels?
- Pheebs Splayfoot: All of them.
- Trader Djingo: 500 gold, at least 100 in coin.
- Pheebs Splayfoot: That's harbour robbery, especially when it's been in storage for months.
- Trader Djingo: We both know you'll sell it for twice that to the armoury once the city's under siege.
- Smiley Gheef: Too right. I'll go 600.
- Pheebs Splayfoot: Hey, I was here first. 700.
- Kaet Ling: A thousand gold, all in cash, no notes.
- Trader Djingo: Sold! A pleasure doing business with you, saer.
