Dwarf
Dwarves are a playable race in Baldur's Gate 3.
About dwarves[edit section | visual editor]
Dwarves are a stalwart and ancient people, shaped by stone, steel, and unyielding tradition. Dwelling in mountain halls and subterranean strongholds, they prize craftsmanship, clan loyalty, and ancestral honor above all else. Their lives are long, their memories longer still, and every triumph or grievance is etched into song and stone. Patience and discipline guide them, whether at the forge, the council table, or the battlefield.
Dwarven culture is diverse. Shield dwarves and gold dwarves uphold the legacies of their clans above all, while duergar — the dark dwarves of the Underdark — embody a harsher, shadowed path, forging survival through cunning, secrecy, and iron will. Across Faerûn, dwarves are respected for their skill, resilience, and loyalty, and whether in sunlit halls or shadowed caverns, they remain unyielding allies and formidable foes.

Religions[edit section | visual editor]
The church of Moradin[edit section | visual editor]
The Dwarffather inspires dwarven inventions and is constantly seeking to improve his race, encouraging a good-natured, intelligent, and harmonious existence with other good races while battling their pride and isolationist tendencies.
Worshipers of Laduguer[edit section | visual editor]
His clerics are the unquestioned rulers of duergar society, enforcing cold and callous behaviour among his worshippers. Laduguer is a xenophobic god with a doctrine of empowerment through slave exploitation and protection through an unforgiving military program. He is at odds with the other dwarven god Moradin.
Cleric deities[edit section | visual editor]
Due to the position Laduguer takes within duergar society, only duergar Clerics are able to pick him as deity.
Equipment[edit section | visual editor]
Certain items have unique bonuses when wielded or worn by a Dwarf. These bonuses can be enabled by being disguised as one before equipping the item.

Notes[edit section | visual editor]
- Each Dwarf subrace equates to a specific type of Dwarf subrace in Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, as they share their unique traits:
- A Gold Dwarf equates to a Hill Dwarf in 5e
- A Shield Dwarf equates to a Mountain Dwarf in 5e.
Bugs[edit section | visual editor]
- Due to an animation timing error, reactions such as Deflect Missiles cannot be used against Dwarves attacking with two-handed crossbows as the attack animation finishes before the reaction can trigger.
