Choosing "We'll find a third way. Would you two like to kill the old man, Minsc, or shall I?" in the Murder Tribunal during Investigate the Murders grants 5 approval from Minsc.
Choosing "Not in this lifetime." while speaking with Rion in Jaheira's house grants 1 approval from Minsc.
Choosing "There are refugees outside. They'll need protection." while speaking with Rion second time in Jaheira's house grants 1 approval from Minsc (might require having Jaheira in party).

If the player attempts to get Minsc to pretend to be their servant during the Murder Tribunal in Investigate the Murders, Minsc loses 50 approval if the player chooses to sacrifice him by choosing "Fine, Sarevok. If he won't obey - take him as my offering instead."
