Olly is a human Zhentarim agent in Act One.

Involvement

Act One

Olly and Rugan are sheltering in a cave near The Risen Road while under attack from Flind's pack of gnolls. As the leader, Rugan orders Olly to leave the heroics to others, and neither of them will engage the party until all the gnolls are defeated. After the battle, Rugan thanks the party for their assistance and reveals that their cargo caravan was ambushed en route to Baldur's Gate.

During this interaction, the party can recognise Rugan and Olly as part of the Zhentarim merchant network. Regardless, Rugan offers the password to enter the Zhentarim Hideout at Waukeen's Rest. It is possible to persuade or intimidate Rugan into relinquishing the chest. If the party obtained the chest through either of these means, Olly will be killed for failing to deliver the cargo.

Speak with Dead

Olly can be spoken to with  Speak with Dead. If the party killed Olly, they do not need to disguise themselves to speak to his corpse.

Notes

• Despite being a ranger and having 3 spell slots, Olly does not have any ranger abilities or spells to make use of.
