Barbarian

The strong embrace the wild that hides inside - keen instincts, primal physicality, and most of all, an unbridled, unquenchable rage.

Barbarian is a character Class in Baldur's Gate 3. Barbarians use their martial prowess and primal rage to strengthen themselves and dominate enemies in combat. Barbarians' key ability scores are Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution.

The Barbarian Subclasses are: Berserker, Wildheart, Wild Magic

Class Information

Barbarian's default armour

• Level 1 Maximum Hit Points: 12 + Constitution Modifier
  • Hit points at higher levels: 7 + Constitution Modifier
• Key Ability Scores:
  • Strength for improved Attack Rolls and damage with melee weapons.
  • Dexterity for higher Initiative and Armour Class.
  • Constitution for more Hit Points and unarmoured Armour Class.
• Saving Throw Proficiencies: Strength, Constitution
• Equipment Proficiencies:
  • Simple weapons, Martial weapons
  • Light armour, Medium armour
  • Shields
• Skills with Proficiency (Choose 2):
  • Animal Handling, Athletics, Intimidation, Nature, Survival, Perception
    • You receive a bonus to every skill that you are proficient in. At Level 1 the Proficiency Bonus is +2.

Level Progression

Through experience, you acquire new power. You gain the following traits.

Level 1

 Rage

• Enter a Rage to gain Resistance against physical damage, deal extra melee and thrown damage, and Advantage on Strength Checks and Saving Throws.
• Rage Charges: 2 (The number of times you can Rage per day. Replenished by Long Rest).

 Unarmoured Defence

• Adds your Constitution modifier to your Armour Class in addition to your Dexterity modifier when not wearing armour.

Level 2

 Reckless Attack

• Until your next turn, you have Advantage on all Attack Rolls, but enemies also have Advantage on Attack Rolls against you.

 Danger Sense

• You have Advantage on Dexterity Saving Throws against traps, Spells and surfaces while not Blinded or Incapacitated.

Level 3

• Rage Charges: 3 (Gain an additional Rage Charge. You can now Rage more times per Long Rest).

• Choose a subclass:

Level 4

• Choose a Feat.

Level 5

• Proficiency Bonus: +3 (You gain +1 to your Proficiency Bonus).

 Extra Attack

• You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

 Fast Movement

• Your Movement Speed increases by 1.5m / 5ft while not wearing Heavy Armour.

Level 6

• Rage Charges: 4 (Gain an additional Rage Charge. You can now Rage more times per Long Rest).

Level 7

 Feral Instinct

• You have honed your instincts to the utmost degree. You gain a +3 to Initiative and can't be Surprised.

• Proficiency Bonus: +4 (You gain +1 to your Proficiency Bonus).
• Brutal Critical: When you land a Critical Hit, you roll an extra damage die as well as the normal additional critical die.

Level 10

Level 11

 Relentless Rage

• Once per Short Rest, if you drop to 0 hit point while Enraged, you regain 1 hit points instead of being Downed.

Level 12

• Rage Charges: 5 (Gain an additional Rage Charge. You can now Rage more times per Long Rest).
• Choose a Feat.
