Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act Three[edit | edit source]

Captain Sleam can be found in the Grey Harbour Docks, near her sloop moored at the pier to the south of the Steel Watch Foundry docks. She argues with Dharin Brislen Dharin Brislen over smuggling him and his family of four out of the city.

Unfortunately, the family lacks money to pay for four people aboard. The party can help the family by convincing Captain Sleam to take them all via check-based options or by paying her the needed sum.

Should the party succeed in resolving the problem, Captain Sleam and the Brislen family are gone from the docks after the next long rest, giving place to another group of characters with their own vignette.

Companion approval[edit | edit source]

The following dialogue options result in companion approval:

Captain Sleam: This is life and death for me too, mate. You only get as many berths on my sloop as you can pay for. If I allow any freeloaders, my own crew will scrag me.

  • Excuse the interruption, Captain, but can I pay for the father's berth?
  • [PERSUASION] Captain... Sleam, is it? It would be a shame to split up the family, don't you think? Let the father go with them. (DC 15)
  • [INTIMIDATION] I have news for you, Captain: you're going to accept four for the price of three and take the father aboard. Or I'll pitch you into the harbour. Got it? (DC 15)
