Varderola
Varderola is a human servant of the Szarr Palace in Baldur's Gate.
Involvement[edit section | visual editor]
Varderola wanders back and forth along the far side of the foyer of the Szarr Palace. From time to time she falls on her knees and starts to rub the floor frantically, or cleans the statues guarding the side walls. If spoken to, she behaves as if thoroughly brainwashed, not even paying much attention to who she is talking to.
The player character can ask Astarion (if he is in the party) about Varderola and other human servants in the palace, particularly about their strange behaviour. Astarion describes them all as "fanatics, here of their own free will and utterly devoted to Cazador <...>, idiots who brought this on themselves" [1].
Combat[edit section | visual editor]
If entering combat with the residents of the palace, Varderola joins them against the party. She and Vilhelm have the biggest chance to participate in combat in the Ballroom, as both are wandering about its door.

Notes[edit section | visual editor]
- ↑ Despite Astarion's scornful and dismissive observations, in-game dialogue files for Varderola and other servants suggests that they too would likely have served their "new master" with the same ardour and humility. Alas, regardless of the Rite outcome, Varderola and her colleagues inevitably die by the moment the party members return to the palace proper from the dungeon.
