Dalyria is a Vampire Spawn enslaved to CazadorCazador, and one of Astarion'sAstarion's siblings.

History[edit section | visual editor]

Prior to being spawn, she was a doctor, Physician General to the Parliament of Baldur's Gate. She believes that vampirism can be cured as any other disease can, and so sought youthful blood to try to overwhelm the vampirism infection.[1]

She sought Leon'sLeon's daughter, VictoriaVictoria, brought her to the Szarr Palace and bit into her. However, Leon had placed a curse on Victoria as a means of protection, which was triggered when she was bitten. Cazador then found Dalyria, who was retching in reaction to tasting cursed blood, and dragged her away for disobeying the rules and drinking a thinking creature.[2]

Involvement[edit section | visual editor]

Dalyria can first be encountered on the first floor of Fraygo's Flophouse in Wyrm's Crossing, where she is hunting with Pale PetrasPale Petras.[3] If Astarion is present, the three will have a confrontation about Cazador and his intentions for the Black Mass ritual being held at the Szarr Palace.

If Astarion is not present, the party can eavesdrop on their conversation:

  • [ROGUE] [STEALTH] Listen in. (DC 15 Advantage Icon.png)

Whether or not the check succeeds or fails, the party can interject by stating they know Astarion or they are interested in the 'party'. The spawn invite the party and then leave.

She later can be encountered with the other spawn in Cazador's Dungeon, suspended and awaiting Cazador's ritual to finish. Like the other spawn, she can be spared or killed after the ritual, or allowed to be consumed as one of the ritual's sacrifices.

Idle banter[edit section | visual editor]

  • Pale Petras
Not long before we leave scouring places like this behind. Part of me will miss it.
  • Dalyria
I will not. It is our chance to start over, and I will gladly do so.
  • Pale Petras
Do you think the master plans to expand his territory? Take Candlekeep - maybe even Amn?
  • Dalyria
Oh, I'm sure he has plans. But I wouldn't dare guess at them.
  • Dalyria
Haven't we lingered long enough? We should return for the ceremony.
  • Pale Petras
We have time - the runaway is still missing, after all. Nothing happens until he's found.
