Ebonlake Grotto

Ebonlake Grotto (also known as the Myconid Colony) is a Location within the Underdark in Act One of Baldur's Gate 3. It is the home of the Myconid Circle, a group of mushroom-like telepaths led by Sovereign Spaw.

Overview

Souvereign Spaw, the leader of Myconid Circle, will contact the party telepathically when they enter the area. Spaw can then be spoken to which starts  Defeat the Duergar Intruders. Later on the party can get the quest  Deliver Nere's Head from Spaw.

Souvereign Glut will request help which starts  Avenge Glut's Circle.

The deep gnome Thulla has been poisoned by a Duergar and needs the antidote. That starts  Cure the Poisoned Gnome. Once she is spoken to, she will die within three long rests.

The traders Blurg and Omeluum can be asked for help regarding the player's tadpole infection. This begins  Help Omeluum investigate the parasite.

The dwarven trader Derryth Bonecloak's husband has gone missing. She asks the party to find him, which starts  Find the Mushroom Picker.

Myconid Minefield

South-east area of the grotto containing many dangerous mushrooms such as Timmask, Bibberbang and Torchstalk. Setting off fire spells or torchstalks in this area can cause a chain reaction of explosions.

Giant Bird Nest

South-west of the grotto, this unnamed area is unremarkable save for the empty giant bird nest.

Guardian Gate

As reward for the quest Defeat the Duergar Intruders, Sovereign Spaw will unlock the gate. It can otherwise be destroyed to enter the room beyond, but not lock-picked. Alternatively it can be opened by using  Knock. Inside is some loot and the Pale Corpse of Xargrim which can be spoken to with  Speak with Dead.
