Involvement

Ephren is encountered alongside other members of the Flaming Fist at Waukeen's Rest on The Risen Road. She was part of the contingent accompanying Duke Ulder Ravengard and staying at the inn when it was attacked by Goblins and Drow. She can be seen kneeling in front of fellow Flaming Fist Jacek, uttering a prayer.

If a party member decides to talk to her, they can ask a few questions, offer condolences, comment on the situation, or join in on the prayer:

• What the hells happened here?
• My condolences to you.
• [BALDURIAN] Looks like he wasn't cut out to be a Flaming Fist.
• Looks like he wasn't cut out for this line of work.
• [GOOD CLERIC] Whisper a sympathetic prayer.
• [CLERIC OF HELM] Join the woman in prayer: 'Steel our blades...'
• [PALADIN] Let the prayer finish. The dead should be honoured as their oath commands.
• [OATHBREAKER] Yet another dies for a futile cause. I'm sorry.

However, if the party member is a drow, Ephren will think you are an attacker unless convinced otherwise:
