Dez Kanshaw is a rock gnome in Baldur's Gate.
“I wonder if this was brewed with my barley?„
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Dez is a patron of the Elfsong Tavern in the Lower City of Baldur's Gate. When spoken with, he tells the party that he is a farmer and all his crops are gone thanks to the Absolute. He mentions needing to find a place for his son Korson as he eats as much as the rest of the family put together, but does not know where he should send him.
The party can tell him to send him to the Counting House, the Flaming Fist, the wilds (barbarian, ranger, and oath of the crown paladins only), the Open Hand Temple, or if the player character is a rogue, the Thieves' Guild:
- Three-Piece sounds like a crook. Better if you join the Fists.
- That cleaner job sounds steady. Leaves you available to head back to the farm.
- I hear the Ilmater temple at Wyrm's needs volunteers. They don't pay, but at least the boy will eat.
- The Thieves Guild are always on the lookout for talent. He'd never run out of work.
- Forget the city - the wilds have everything you need.
- Enrol with the Fists. It's honourable work.
Suggesting the Thieves' Guild grants the inspiration for party members with the background.
