Elminster's Library is a Location within Wyrm's Crossing in Act Three of Baldur's Gate 3. It is one of thematic parlours on the Upper Floor of Sharess' Caress.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Elminster's Library is the first room on the right when ascending to the Upper Floor of the pleasure house.

This room is a pleasure den themed around schooling, knowledge, and subjugation. It is stylized as a large atheneum in blue and white hues, with several large bookcases, scroll stacks and alchemical appliances. Side by side, there are some details which appeal to the room's specifics: chains and cuffs hanging from columns and a dog collar in the corner. The room is normally locked, but easily opened without interruption by means of a DC 10 Sleight of Hand check or obtaining a copy of Sharess' Caress Rooms Key (see below).

The resident of this parlour is Ffion Goldgrind Ffion Goldgrind, also known as "The Stern Librarian". However, by the time the party arrive at Wyrm's Crossing, she has been murdered and her body concealed in the hidden room in Fraygo's Flophouse.

The party can talk to Sharess' Caress's proprietor Amira Mamzell Amira about Ffion: this starts the Find the 'Stern Librarian' Ffion Find the 'Stern Librarian' Ffion quest. In this case, Amira gives the key to the room, so the party can find any clues on Ffion's disappearance. Otherwise, a copy of the key can be taken from the nearby Nymph's Grotto, on the shelf near the entrance.

Once inside the library, Ffion's Journal can be found on a desk, providing the needed clue. If the party have already found Ffion's body, they can tell Amira about it and get the "reward", as if they have taken and finished the quest.

In bookcases around the room a number of thematic titles can be found, as well as several suitable-to-occasion sets of Camp Clothing in the wardrobe behind the bath tube. One of the scroll stacks contain a scroll of Dimension Door Dimension Door, while the other contains a random Uncommon or Rare one. The wooden ladder from the balcony of this suite leads to the roof, allowing the party to move around the area unhampered.
