Fist Jara is human Flaming Fist patron of Sharess' Caress in Wyrm's Crossing. She has a tadpole, and will transform into a Mind flayer upon encountering the party.

Involvement

Jara can first be seen in  Naoise Nallinto's room, in a makeout session with her. Upon being approached by the party, an extended cutscene begins, in which Jara recognizes the party and is commanded to transform into a Mind Flayer by the Netherbrain. This results in combat.

Jara has both her regular abilities and mind flayer abilities:

Damage: 8~64

8d8⁠Necrotic

Deals 8d8⁠⁠Necrotic damage to a target. Plants take maximum damage from this spell, and have  Disadvantage on the  Saving Throw against it.

 Conjure Elemental: Fire Elemental ( + )

The fire elemental can use  Smouldering Touch,  Erupting Cinder, and can make your foes  Burn.

If it is higher level than the spell slot you used to Counterspell, you must make a check using your spellcasting ability^{[See: Bugs]} to prevent it. The check's difficulty is equal to 10 plus the level of the spell you are trying to counter.

This spell can be cast while you are  Silenced.

Shoot a green arrow that bursts in a spray of acid. Deals ⁠4d4 Acid damage immediately and ⁠2d4 Acid damage at the end of the target's next turn.

If the spell misses, the target still takes half the initial damage, but no damage at the end of its next turn.

Damage: 4~32 + modifiers

Spew forth a conical wave of psychic energy and possibly  Stun targets within.

Alter time around up to 6 enemies to Slow them. They won't get far, they can't do much, and they're easier to hit.

Notes

• Despite being a Flaming Fist Wizard, Jara's portrait has her wearing the Flaming Fist  Leather Armour rather than the  Simple Robe they are known to wear. That same Flaming Fist leather armour can be found neatly folded nearby, next to the room's water spring.

Bugs

• Although this character can be revived, she remains illithid (and hostile) upon doing so.
