Act One[edit | edit source]

The Blue Jay is a bird of dubious morals encountered on the road to Rosymorn Monastery. It can initially be found hovering alongside a small nest containing a key and can be spoken to via Speak with Animals Speak with Animals. When pressed, the bird coyly admits that it stole the nest from "some poor little tit who wasn't paying attention."

Talking to it about "drunk lizards" prompts a DC 14 Nature check which, if passed, hints at the Kobold presence at Rosymorn Monastery.

The party can threaten to eat the Blue Jay, scaring it off.

The Blue Jay attempts to recruit the party to take back "its" nest from the Giant Eagles atop the monastery roof, which initiates Reclaim the Blue Jay's Nest Reclaim the Blue Jay's Nest. Upon completion, it reveals the location of a hidden stash on the region map.
