Lur Xanta

Lur Xanta is a spider NPC found in Grymforge during Act One. It can be found near the cages west of the waypoint, alongside the other spiders.

Involvement

When approached, the party can use  Speak with Animals or similar effect to listen to the conversation between Xanta and the other spiders. Xanta is trying to convince the other spiders to leave Murmath and join the cult of Lolth. Depending on the dialogue choices Fu can attack the party, can attack Xanta, or Fu can be convinced to join the cult.

• [PERSUASION] Among the Spider Queen's followers, you'd be revered as her physical manifestation. Honoured. Exalted. (DC 5)
• [OATH OF THE ANCIENTS] [PERSUASION] Being bound to serve Murmath spits in the face of natural order. It limits you. (DC 7)
• [OATH OF VENGEANCE] [PERSUASION] Why be bound to Murmath when you could be Lolth's avenging Justiciars? (DC 7)
• [OATH OF DEVOTION] [PERSUASION] Your duty is to each other, not Murmath. Embrace that, and power unlimited will be yours. (DC 7)
• [OATHBREAKER] [PERSUASION] You owe nothing to Murmath. Break your bonds, free yourselves. Become unstoppable. (DC 7)

Failing a check or choosing to not get involved results in Xanta being attacked by the other three spiders. Otherwise, the spiders are convinced and leave the Grymforge.
