A full-illithid is a character who has undergone complete ceremorphosis and become a mind flayer. This option will only become available after travelling to the Astral Plane during the quest Confront the Elder Brain.

In order to transform, the player must offer to do so while in dialogue with The Emperor or Orpheus once they have reached the Astral Plane after travelling to the Morphic Pool. If Karlach was brought along, she will also offer to transform. It is not necessary for the player character or Karlach to have accepted the Astral-Touched Tadpole and become a partial-illithid in order to become a full-illithid.

Only the player character, Orpheus or Karlach may undergo the full transformation[Needs Verification].

Changes[edit | edit source]

Player-characters and Karlach will still have access to their previous set of abilities and proficiencies. However, ability scores, race and type will change (see info box).

Orpheus will have slightly different stats, and only have access to his illithid powers.

Conditions[edit | edit source]

New abilities[edit | edit source]

After becoming a full-illthid, the illithid power tree will become locked, [note 1] however most[note 2] abilities, or upgraded versions of abilities, will be gained, as well as some new ones:

And the full-illithid upgrade of Mind Sanctuary:

Old abilities[edit | edit source]

If the character did not already have the following powers, they will be unlocked:

And the following passives, if they did not already have them:
