Voiceless Penitent Bareki is a trader encountered in Baldur's Gate 3 during Act Three. As his title implies, he is completely silent and does not have any dialogue during his interactions.

He can be found in the Undercity Ruins at X: -157 Y: 939, near the Undercity Ruins Ancient Rune Circle in the Lower City Sewers.

History

Bareki was once one of the finest thieves in the city, running with Sarin and Aelis Siryasius. The three of them managed to break into Enver Gortash's office, where they discovered that he was in league with the Absolute. In retaliation, they were hunted by the Absolute, and were forced to flee into the city sewers. While in hiding, the three each became "strange", Sarin hiding their treasure, Bareki going mute, and Aelis becoming paranoid.
