Creature size
A creature's size indicates how large it is.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Creature size roughly communicates other parameters like the model's dimensions, how much space it physically occupies, their weight, and their ability to interact with the environment, such as via Rocky Crevices and Burrow Holes.
A creature's size and weight can be inspected by selecting it and choosing Examine, or targeting it with the cursor and hitting the corresponding hotkey.
The weight of a creature affects who or what can or it.
- A creature may throw items and other creatures weighing up to  or .
- For example, with 18 Strength, one can throw objects weighing up to (or 130 lbs).
 
- When a creature's size changes, its weight is also adjusted as necessary to conform with the above categories.

Modifying size[edit | edit source]

When a creature's form is changed (examples in table below), part of the parameters they inherit include the form's size and weight as per the above table.

Enlarge and reduce[edit | edit source]
Furthermore, additional modifications can be made to a character's size to shift it into neighbouring categories, as per the table below.
- Creatures cannot change to categories larger than Gargantuan, or smaller than Tiny.
- Other parameters like their physical model can still change size.
 
- Conditions with the same Stack ID (see below) are replaced/refreshed if another source is added; they do not stack.
- For instance, a duergar inflicted with is Large, and using firsts cancel Enlarged, then applies it anew.
- Using on a character first cancels the latter condition (regardless of initial source), then apply Enlarged, possibly changing their overall size by 2 categories.
- Despite being a separate Condition and having additional effects, takes up the same "slot" as Enlarged and Reduced.
 
- Conditions with different Stack IDs can stack, changing the character's size as appropriate.
- An Enlarged character that uses a Elixir of the Colossus further increases size.
- A creature with that is then Reduced returns back to its original size, then changes again as appropriate when either effect ends or is replaced.
 
- These changes apply after taking into account a shape / form change.
- As such, a Medium Cat, Gargantuan Owlbear, or Tiny Sheep are all possible, amongst other combinations.
 
- In Honour Mode, is mutually exclusive with , , and , but it can still stack with .

Bugs[edit | edit source]
- The increase in weight (but not size) caused by any of the 4 enlarging conditions ( , etc.) on a creature that ends up as Huge or Gargantuan is unstable; it may be lost or regained in response to performing actions or gaining or losing conditions.
- Polymorph conditions other than Starry Forms double all adjustments to size category (but not weight or visual size) from and pre-existing enlarging conditions. For example, a reduced character as an elf is Tiny, not Small, but still weighs 32 kg (64 lb).
Notes[edit | edit source]
- ↑ Despite their shorter stature and reduced movement speed, Dwarves are indeed Medium creatures, interacting with other game mechanics accordingly.
- ↑ Ansur's size displays as Huge when he is deceased and Large when he is alive. This is due to two character stat entries, a GameSize of Huge and a Weight of 4000kg. When deceased, Ansur's body is considered a game object (much like a lootable corpse) and the game references the GameSize entry, which classifies Ansur as Huge. When alive, Ansur is treated as a shapeshifted character and the game references the Weight entry, which due to its value classifies Ansur as Large. As a result, while alive Ansur can be affected by spells and attacks which normally would not function against Huge characters.
