Andrick is a novice of the Absolute. He is searching the Wilderness for survivors of the Nautiloid Wreck alongside his fellow believers EdowinEdowin and BrynnaBrynna.
What...? Are you... are you testing us? The Absolute is our goddess. She's going to rip down the old world order, start a new one. Then we'll be the ones with the power - well, you will firstly, True Soul. You don't need me to explain that.
Andrick, explaining the Absolute

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act One[edit | edit source]

Andrick can be found in the Forest at X: 139 Y: 446 worrying over his brother, EdowinEdowin, who is dying from the wounds sustained from an Owlbear attack. He is more trusting than his sister, BrynnaBrynna, if the party should try to help.

Andrick has been tasked with looking for survivors of the Nautiloid Wreck. If a party member reveals that they are those survivors or are not followers of the Absolute, he and his sister become hostile. If the interacting party member passes a Skill Check involving Medicine or Illithid Persuasion then Andrick and his sister do not attack:

  • [GOOD PALADIN] [GOOD CLERIC] He's wounded. I'd like to help - if you'll let me.
  • [MEDICINE] His wounds look deep. I might be able to help. (DC 10)
  • [TRUE SOUL] I will go where I wish.
  • [ILLITHID] [WISDOM] I will go where I wish. (DC 10)
  • Don't you recognise a True Soul when you see one?

If the interacting party member does not reveal their true allegiance, the siblings ask what they should do next. They can be convinced to continue searching for the survivors, to leave for the Goblin Camp, or to seek out the owlbear that attacked them. If told to seek out the owlbear, they head towards the cave where it can be found and go in. Inside, they hesitate before reaching the den, and the party can convince them to press forward:

  • [ILLITHID] [WISDOM] You have no choice. Go. (DC 2)
  • [TRUE SOUL] [ILLITHID] Move forward. Your True Soul commands it.
  • [TRUE SOUL] [ILLITHID] Move forward. I command it.
  • [PERFORMANCE] The Absolute has plans for you, child - and they only begin here. (DC 5)
  • [INTIMIDATION] I won't tolerate cowardice. Attack - now. (DC 10)
  • [NATURE] Press your advantage now, before the beast smells your fear. (DC 5)
  • [BERSERKER] [INTIMIDATION] It killed your brother. FORGET FEAR. CHOOSE FURY. (DC 10 Advantage Icon.png)
  • [BARBARIAN] [INTIMIDATION] Be sure. Attack. (DC 10 Advantage Icon.png)

Whatever the case, as long as the situation is resolved peacefully, the party members are rewarded 70 Experience. Andrick can be a useful ally against the owlbear and if he survives he can be told alongside Brynna to continue their search for survivors of the Nautiloid or return to the Goblin Camp.

In the Goblin Camp, Andrick informs the party that he is still getting used to rubbing elbows with goblins. He becomes hostile along with the rest of the camp if party members attack the leaders within the Shattered Sanctum, either before or after the raid on the Emerald Grove.

Killing both Brynna and Andrick gains Reuniting FriendsReuniting Friends for the Dark UrgeDark Urge.

Brynna and Andrick's survival is not necessary for the recruitment of the Owlbear Cub; as long as its mother is dead, it appears at the Goblin Camp following the next Long Rest.
