Flurry of Blows: Topple

Flurry of Blows: Topple is a Way of the Open Hand Monk class action. It is an enhanced variant of  Flurry of Blows that can potentially knock a target  Prone.

Description

Punch twice in quick succession and potentially knock the target  Prone.

• Equivalent to two normal unarmed attacks.
• Affected by  Martial Arts: Deft Strikes, scaling with your level.
• Affected by  Martial Arts: Dextrous Attacks, scaling with your Strength or Dexterity, whichever is higher.

At Higher Levels

• Damage at Monk level 3:

1d6 (1~6) + Strength or Dexterity modifier Bludgeoning damage

• Can't move or take Actions, Bonus actions, or Reactions, and has Disadvantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws.
• Attacks against a Prone creature have Advantage if they're made within 3 m / 10 ft of the creature.
• A Prone creature must spend half its Movement Speed to stand up.
  • A character with the Athlete feat spends only 1.5 m / 5 ft of Movement Speed to stand up.

Notes

• The Saving throw for this attack is rolled against the attacker's weapon action DC given by:

Weapon action DC = 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Strength or Dexterity modifier

• The Saving throw is rolled when the second punch lands. If it misses, the target cannot be knocked  Prone even if the first punch lands.
• This attack does not trigger  Extra Attack.
• Additional sources of Bonus action such as  Wholeness of Body or  Fast Hands may be used to execute this attack multiple times per turn.
• This attack is affected by all bonuses that apply to regular unarmed attacks, such as  Manifestation of Body,  Soul, or  Mind.
