Skickpit is a member of Clan Ironhand who was captured by Duergar slavers, and is being forced to work for the Cult of the Absolute in the Abandoned Refuge.

Involvement

Skickpit will initially be just outside the elevator which leads to the Shadow-Cursed Lands, being harassed by Magmar Magmar and Pistle Pistle. The party can later join in with harassing Skickpit, or try to assure him that they are trying to help. This will require a persuasion check, or if Wyll Wyll is chosen as origin Skickpit will believe them automatically. Paladins or Clerics under a good deity also need not pass a persuasion check.

Skickpit can be saved without combat by poisoning the "stained cask" near the stairs before climbing.

If the camp is cleared of Duergar, Skickpit can be told to join the other deep gnomes.

If the interacting with the elevator, Skickpit may also warn the party about travelling to the Shadow-Cursed Lands without a Moonlantern.

After Nere or Magmar/Pistle have been dealt with, the party can convince Skickpit to take the elevator, which will kill him:

  • [DECEPTION] The curse is cleared. You'll be perfectly safe. (DC 10)
  • [BERSERKER] [INTIMIDATION] MOVE. I WASN'T ASKING. (DC 10 Advantage Icon.png)
  • [BARBARIAN] [INTIMIDATION] I go where I like. Move. (DC 10 Advantage Icon.png)
  • [INTIMIDATION] Just do it, before I cut out that profane tongue of yours. (DC 10)
  • [PERSUASION] Grymforge is even more dangerous. Stay at your own peril. (DC 10)
  • [GNOME] Trust me. Would a gnome steer you wrong?
