Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act One[edit | edit source]
Skickpit can be encountered initially outside the elevator which leads to the Shadow-Cursed Lands, being harassed by Magmar and Pistle. The party can join in with harassing Skickpit, or try to assure him that they are trying to help. This will require a check. If Wyll is chosen as Origin, Skickpit believes the party automatically. Paladins or Clerics under a good deity also do not need to pass a skill check.
Skickpit can be saved without combat by poisoning the "stained cask" near the stairs before climbing.
If the camp is cleared of duergar, Skickpit can be told to join the other deep gnomes.
If interacting with the elevator, Skickpit warns the party about travelling to the Shadow-Cursed Lands without a Moonlantern.
After Nere and / or Magmar and Pistle are dealt with, the party can convince Skickpit to take the elevator, which kills him:
- [DECEPTION] The curse is cleared. You'll be perfectly safe. (DC 10)
- [BERSERKER] [INTIMIDATION] MOVE. I WASN'T ASKING. (DC 10
)
- [BARBARIAN] [INTIMIDATION] I go where I like. Move. (DC 10
)
- [INTIMIDATION] Just do it, before I cut out that profane tongue of yours. (DC 10)
- [PERSUASION] Grymforge is even more dangerous. Stay at your own peril. (DC 10)
- [GNOME] Trust me. Would a gnome steer you wrong?
