Overview

Highly aggressive and selfish, he is quick to start a fight under the assumption you're trying to steal whatever treasure is on the Nautiloid Wreck and in the ruins he is guarding.

Involvement

Act One

Gimblebock can be found at the Chapel Entrance with Quelenna Quelenna, Taman Taman, and Warryn Warryn. When the party approaches, he will automatically engage them in conversation and ask them to leave.

The party can use one of several Ability Checks, including Persuasion, Deception, Intimidation as well as class-specific options from Monk, Warlock, Paladin, and Fighter to make him and the others leave peacefully, or decide to attack them.

Resolving the situation peacefully will reward 50 Experience and an inspiration for those with the Charlatan background (including Astarion), however fighting the bandits will be worth 70, plus the opportunity to take all their gear as well.

Speak with Dead

Gimblebock can be spoken to with Speak with Dead.

Party member: Who are you?

  • Gimblebock: Gimblebock...

Party member: What is your profession?

  • Gimblebock: Thieving. Looting. Cutting throats... wherever there's gold...

Party member: Do you have any valables?

  • Gimblebock: Looking for valuables... chapel...

Party member: What were you doing here?

  • Gimblebock: Looting... chapel ruins...
    • Party member: Did you find valuables in the ruins?
      • Gimblebock: Some... but lower crypt locked...
        • Party member: How do I get into the crypt?
          • Gimblebock: Door sealed... can't break it... can't pick it... must be something.

Party member: What's inside this place?

  • Gimblebock: The others, searching... chapel ruins. Can't get into lower crypt...

Party member: Do you have many people inside?

  • Gimblebock: Handful... Andorn guarding the door. The rest searching...

(If you successfully identify the statue in the Dank Crypt.) Party member: Did you know you were breaking into a chapel dedicated to Jergal?

  • Gimblebock: No. Doesn't matter...if his loot's good...

Notes

  • As of Patch 1, Gimblebock's race is simply "Gnome", without having a subrace specified (unlike his fellow bandit Warryn who is listed as a Rock Gnome). This may be a bug.
  • Gimblebock has chosen an unfortunate place to stand and talk. If the player could get close enough without being seen they could snap the Coiled Rope holding the Foundation Block above him.
