Absolute Questioner

Absolute Questioners are deep gnome Cult of the Absolute warlocks and capable torturers that specialize in a unique form of mental torture.

Overview

Questioners are warlocks who adhere to the Absolute, whose main responsibility lies with the interrogation, torture, and conversion of prisoners held by the Cult of the Absolute. It's not clear if, like the zealots and adepts, the questioners are oblivious to the Absolute's standing as a false goddess, or like the Mistresses of Souls, if they are aware of the hoax-like nature of the Absolutist plot.

Involvement

Act Two

Two deep gnome questioners are initially encountered in the Moonrise Towers Prison, and under the circumstances that  Minthara has reached Moonrise, they can be observed torturing and erasing her into a docile state. If not killed early, both questioners will automatically be killed during the ⁠Assault on Moonrise Towers before the party can arrive.

Combat

Absolute Questioners are warlocks that with the abilities to inflict negative effects and cast  Eldritch Blast on their opponents.

Attacks and abilities

 Blindness ( + )

Limit a foe's sight range. It is easier to hit, and the creature will miss more often. Attack rolls against it have Advantage and the foe attacks with Disadvantage.

 Cloud of Daggers ( + )

Damage: 4~16

4d4⁠Slashing

Conjure a cloud of spinning daggers that attack anyone inside.

 Range: 18 m / 60 ft

 Confusion ( + )

Befuddle a group of creatures, causing them to attack at random, wander around aimlessly, and occasionally skip turns in the stupor.

 Range: 18 m / 60 ft

 Eldritch Blast ()

Damage: 1~10

1d10⁠Force

Conjure a beam of crackling energy. Deals 1d10⁠⁠Force damage to a target.
