Flaming Fist Wizards are wizards of the Flaming Fist that can be found guarding and patrolling the streets of Baldur's Gate during Act Three.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

Act Three[edit | edit source]

Flaming Fist Wizards can be found throughout the entire city of Baldur's Gate, guarding strategic locations such as Wyrm's Rock Fortress, Basilisk Gate Barracks, and Bloomridge Park. They can assist the party during certain public encounters, or fight against them should they be on the wrong side of the law.

Combat[edit | edit source]

Flaming Fist Wizards are powerful spellcasters that have the spell slots of a level 12 caster. They are able to create diversions and debuffs to aid their fellow Flaming Fists through upcasted SlowSlow and Conjure Elemental: Fire ElementalConjure Elemental: Fire Elemental spells, as well as being able to shut down party spells through CounterspellCounterspell. However, their damage output is low, consisting of upcasted Melf's Acid ArrowMelf's Acid Arrow spells and BlightBlight.

If the spell misses, the target still takes half the initial damage, but no damage at the end of its next turn.

Try to stop a spell being cast.

If it is higher level than the spell slot you used to Counterspell, you must make a check using your spellcasting ability[See Notes] to prevent it. The check's difficulty is equal to 10 plus the level of the spell you are trying to counter.

This spell can be cast while you are Silenced Silenced.

SlowSlow (Action + Level 3 Spell Slot)
Alter time around up to 6 enemies to Slow them. They won't get far, they can't do much, and they're easier to hit.

  • Some members of this archetype may have slightly different passives, movement speed, weight, and size due to being members of different races.
  • The Flaming Fist Wizard robe exists in the game as a Simple Robe, but is inaccessible to players without third-party tools.
  • Though Anderson and Shuurga have a caster archetype, and ability scores and amount of spell slots due to their race and level, both have no spells or cantrips to cast.
