Overview[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
Dribbles the Clown, born Norris Greenie[text 1], is the "star" and one of the most popular shows at the Circus of the Last Days. Unfortunately, he is killed by cultists of Bhaal sometime before the party reaches Baldur's Gate and replaced by Fumm.
History[edit | edit source]
For a decade, Dumpty Dumpling was the headline act at the Circus of the Last Days. However, Dumpty's love of clowning was fading. During one of his performances, Norris Greene volunteered himself when Dumpty called for one from the crowd. Norris quickly enthralled the crowd with his quick wit and one-liners. Lucretious, seeing his potential, offered Norris a job on the spot. [text 1]
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act Three[edit | edit source]
'Dribbles the Clown' can first be encountered at the Circus of the Last Days doing a comedy routine. One member of his audience is Quinton. On approaching the stage 'Dribbles' calls upon a member of the party to join him on stage, where it is eventually revealed that this Dribbles is actually a Doppelganger named Fumm.
Warlocks and Rogues can attempt to see through the clown disguise - passing the check allows the character to cautiously go on stage, allowing the party to preemptively strike the evil clown. Doing so also grants the inspiration to party members with the Entertainer background.
After the fight, Lucretious asks the party to find Dribbles. The parts of his body can be found strewn across Baldur's Gate. After his parts are returned, Lucretious says she is able to resurrect him so that he can continue performing.
Party interactions[edit | edit source]
The player character can suggest one of their party members go up on the stage when their group is called on. Some companions approve of being called up on stage, while others disapprove. The interactions are as follows:
Astarion[edit | edit source]
- Astarion: Oh good, puns. Because clowns aren't enough of a horror already.
- Player character: You love the spotlight, don't you, Astarion?

Halsin[edit | edit source]
- Halsin: Why is that daubed fellow being forced before a crowd like so? Is he being punished? Ritualised humiliation?
- Player character: Lend him a hand, Halsin.
