Entertainer is a character background with skills and inspirations themed around bardic performances. The hireling Brinna Brightsong has this background.

• Acrobatics Proficiency: Gain Proficiency with Dexterity (Acrobatics) Ability Checks.
• Performance Proficiency: Gain Proficiency with Charisma (Performance) Ability Checks.

Background goals

Performing certain actions that align with this background rewards Inspiration. These goals can be accomplished by any member of the active party, and Inspiration points are pooled, up to a maximum of 4. Completing an inspiration event also grants experience to characters with this background. While not necessarily all-inclusive, listed below are known events which grant inspiration points.

Campsite	25	Celebrant	Enjoy a dance in camp with the tieflings. At the celebration, if Lakrissa was knocked out or killed, Zae appears in her stead and asks the player character for a dance.
Emerald Grove	20	A Bard's Muse	Inspire Alfira the bard. The party must help her finish the song. Doing this by playing a duet also grants an instrument proficiency for the interacting character.
	30	A Story for the Ages	Turn someone to your side with a well-timed tale. Convince Kagha to abandon the Shadow Druids. Alternatively, can also be earned by successfully deciphering the meaning of the frescos around the Inner Sanctum.
	25	A Very Tall Tale	Tell Volo a dramatic story fit for a chapbook. The interacting party member must pick the most ludicrous options. Bards can use their specific class-based options as well.
	20	Made You Look	Earn Mattis' respect by taking his ring. The interacting party member must pass a DC 15 Sleight of Hand check in the dialogue (Rogues instead roll DC 10 with Advantage).
Goblin Camp	25	Chicken Chase Extraordinaire	Win a match of chicken chase. Granted regardless of whether it is Owlbear Cub or Dishevelled Chicken. Can be won fairly, using Command: Approach, or with Speak with Animals using persuasion to guide the creature to the post.
	25	Feel the Beat	Successfully perform on the goblin war drum. The interacting party member must succeed a DC 10 Performance check on the particular drum at the camp outpost. Multiple other war drums around the camp does not have this option. If the goblin guards are alive, they can reprimand the party for doing this.
	25	Give Them a Show	Get the goblins on your side while duelling Crusher. Defeat Crusher in a duel and, after he surrenders, choose the Intimidation option to make him kiss your foot. Mutually exclusive with ⁠Anything for a Profit and ⁠What Price Dignity?.
	25	Life of the Party	Take part in the Goblin Camp's toast. The toast is called out only after poisoning the tub. If the party retreats after tampering with the tub, they are locked out of this inspiration.
Shattered Sanctum	25	The Art of Agony	Perform for Loviatar's pleasure in her ritual. A character must submit to Abdirak's beating and succeed three ability checks on Performance or Intimidation (can be mixed), OR fail three Constitution checks. Shedding the armour applies the Ardent Apostle condition, helping to endure or imitate pain. Eating any spoiled/rotten food before the ritual applies the Poisoned condition, which may help to fail Constitution checks.
Underdark	30	Heart of the Creator	Perform in a play with Bernard the automaton. When talking to Bernard, use any of his rhymed commands. The options become available after reading the various books throughout the Arcane Tower. Using the line with the words "We'll kill the rest..." makes the automatons hostile.
Zhentarim Basement	30	The Price of Ink	Free Oskar the painter from the Zhentarim. Convince Brem to let Oskar go or buy him, or kill the Zhentarim and then talk to Oskar. The options to set Oskar loose for free appear only in the initial dialogue with Brem, after choosing the line "It sounds a bit more like kidnapping".
Act Two
Gauntlet of Shar	75	Catchy Tune	Hear the orthon's contract. To earn this one, passing the related passive Insight check is not necessary.
Last Light Inn	50	Living Legend	Accept Jaheira's invitation to talk. Granted upon first talking to her inside the Last Light Inn.
	50	Memento Mori	Offer condolences to Meygan. Talk to Meygan while she's mourning Yonas at the fane at X: -61 Y: 112. Obtainable only before Marcus' attempt to kidnap Isobel.
	60	Strings of Fate	Bring Art his lute. Granted after waking Art Cullagh with the use of his lute.
Moonrise Towers	50	A Different Kind of Muse	Connect to the strange consciousness in Moonrise. Fail the check to free your hand when interacting with the wall, or choose to "Do nothing". Granted regardless of theresult of the subsequent check against being dragged down.
	50	Danse Macabre	Make the gnolls stay under the influence of their master. Mutually exclusive with ⁠Gone Feral, ⁠No Strings to Hold Them Back and ⁠Who Let the Gnolls Out.
	95	Eclipse of the Heart	Recount Ketheric Thorm's past to him, shaking his resolve. Available only after reading the letter to him from his dead wife. At the Moonrise Towers Rooftop, when the dialogue starts, use the specific dialogue line which appeals to Melodia. Following the sequence of high-DC rolls does not grant it, despite leading to the same result.
Reithwin Town	60	A Story You Won't Believe	Pass all Performance checks when telling a tall tale to the brewer. Thisobald demands a story twice. The Performance checks have DC from 16 to 21 (the full list is on his page).
	75	A Tale of Two Souls	Complete the saga of Art, Halsin and the spirit of the land. Granted after the player character convinces Oliver to reunite with Thaniel.
	75	It Came From Shadows	Discover the source of the Shadow Curse. Granted after the party defeats Oliver and his "family" in the town square.
	60	Tales of Yore	Piece the scriptures together correctly and reveal the secret in the town square. Interact with the three plaques on the sides of the monument in the city square. If started with the wrong one, continue triggering them around until the full line appears.
	60	Town of Shadows	Find out the fate of each of the major characters in the town: the brewer, the surgeon, the toll collector and the mason. Talk to Thisobald Thorm, Malus Thorm, and Gerringothe Thorm. Also, read the plaque in the Mason's Guild under the pile of 'Odd Looking Bones'. The order is irrelevant.
Shadow-Cursed Lands	50	Plucking the Lyre's Web	Play the Spider's Lyre to attract the drider. The party must play the lyre obtained or looted from Nere or from Minthara to summon Kar'niss. Granted regardless of passing the Performance check.
Act Three
Lower City	170	A Stand-Up Adventurer	Win the comedy contest in the Elfsong Tavern. The winning joke combos are listed on Harvard's page. Mutually exclusive with ⁠At Least They Didn't Throw Overripe Bananas....
	135	At Least They Didn't Throw Overripe Bananas...	Lose the comedy contest in the Elfsong Tavern. The scheme which allows to lose the contest is listed on Harvard's page. Mutually exclusive with ⁠A Stand-Up Adventurer.
	170	Alien in the Big City	Meet and acquaint yourself with Ptaris. Available only if the Githyanki Egg was sold to Lady Esther in Act One. Mutually exclusive with ⁠Membership Admittance.
	170	Finding her Stage	Reunite with Alfira in Baldur's Gate. Available only if Alfira survived the events of Acts One and Two.
	220	Making It Sing to Your Tune	Sabotage the printing press. Change the article block in the printing press maintained by Jelliwig.
	170	Playing Sune	Nudge Svend to accept Siggy's proposition. At The Blushing Mermaid, convince Svend to go out with Siggy, using any of available ability checks or class-based lines.
	170	Sea Memorial	Offer something during the Water Queen's funeral procession. In the initial dialogue with Allandra Grey, choose any line except "I brought nothing", including all class-based lines.
	170	Threads of Fame	Obtain a piece of clothing from the famous Figaro. Granted only upon trading with Figaro Pennygood himself. Trading with Phlanders Hort if Figaro died does not count.
	220	The Throes of Love	Save Oskar's life. Must destroy Kerri's portrait in the hidden cubby, then dispose of the ghost (either convince her to leave or fight her). Kerri does not attack Oskar if the battle starts. Only choosing the line "Leave Oskar to his fate" or killing him on an accident prevents from earning the inspiration.
Murder Tribunal	220	Villain of the Ages	Encounter Sarevok, wretched spawn of the dark God Bhaal. Granted upon starting an automated dialogue with the Tribunal.
Rivington	135	Blabbermouth	Complete Lens' interview. Only obtainable if Orin is impersonating Lens.
	135	Drama Sleuth	Take up Valeria's investigation. Promise Sister Yannis to investigate the double murder after Valeria leaves.
	170	Explosive Artistry	Obtain the Runepowder Bomb from Wulbren. Granted only if the player character agrees with Wulbren's plan in the initial dialogue. Taking or stealing the bomb outside of the dialogue does not count. Mutually exclusive with ⁠Keeping Your Hands Clean.
	135	Skald's Song	Witness the Gur funeral. Available only if Astarion was not betrayed to Gandrel in Act One. Granted regardless of the passive Religion check result (rolled within the cutscene).
	135	Taking the Spotlight	Willingly step up to the circus' stage. Works as well if any companion is nudged to step up on the stage (hirelings cannot do it). Only straightaway refusal does not grant it.
Wyrm's Crossing	170	Giving a Private Performance	Receive a service at Sharess' Caress. Hire any of the drow twins (or both), OR pass an Insight check to get a service from Naoise Nallinto.
Wyrm's Rock Fortress	170	Personal Invitation	Witness Gortash's coronation. Granted regardless of the party's decision on Gortash's proposition of alliance.
