Involvement

Act Three

Sister Franchot stands in the middle of reception room in the Wyrm's Rock Fortress, waiting for her case to be brought on before a Flaming Fist investigator. Her brother  Bering Gahorst is accused of bumping a patriar while driving his cart on a road. Bering is very nervous about the upcoming trial and afraid of possible confinement. Although Franchot tries to cheer him, it is clear she feels just as uneasy as he does.

Idle banter

• Bering Gahorst

  Are they going to arrest us? What if they throw us in jail?

• Franchot

  Calm down, dear. It won't happen, I swear.

• Bering Gahorst

  Our cart barely grazed that patriar. He wasn't even hurt!

• Franchot

  That's why nothing's going to happen to us. We'll tell them what happened, and we'll be home in no time.

• Bering Gahorst

  You've been saying that for ages, and we're still here. What are they waiting for?

  I don't know dear, I don't know. All we can do is be patient.
