Alia Durinbold

Lady Alia Durinbold is a Lady of Baldur's Gate who is present for  Enver Gortash's ordination as the Archduke of the city.

Involvement

Before the ceremony she sits among other patriars on the pews in central nave of the Audience Hall.

After the ceremony ends, Lady Alia stays near the throne, discussing with  Rugger Shattershield and  Ulder Ravengard the unition of the Flaming Fist and the Steel Watch, but not taking part in the conversation too much. If spoken to, she says that she trusts Gortash if Ulder Ravengard does, not knowing Ulder Ravengard has been suborned by a tadpole.

If the party choose to confront Gortash, they can later find Lady Durinbold along with all other invited guests and their retinue – slaughtered in the Audience hall.

  Let us be resolved. Today, we name Lord Enver Gortash as Archduke of Baldur's Gate.

• Enver Gortash

  Enemies within? Who do you mean?

  Traitors, Portyr. Any who dares speak ill of Baldur's Gate or its people.

• Rugger Shattershield

  Pardon me saying, Archduke, but do the people require such a heavy hand?

• Enver Gortash

  The people demand it. Is a Baldurian truly free when he fears for his future?

• Rugger Shattershield

  And if the Steel Watch can't protect us? What then?

• Ulder Ravengard

  The Flaming Fist stand ready. With Gortash at the head, they can't fail.

• Alia Durinbold

  Ravengard - you would give up the Fist's command?

• Ulder Ravengard

  The Watch and the Fist must unite under one authority. Gortash is uniquely qualified for the endeavour.

• Ulder Ravengard

  Under Gortash, the two will conquer the cult army and preserve our city and our heritage.

  The Steel Watch is disabled, Gortash. How do you intend to protect this city? (If the Steel Watch Foundry is destroyed)

• Enver Gortash

  Are you so lacking in imagination, Durinbold?

• Enver Gortash

  A hiccup, nothing more. It is not steel that strengthens us, friends. It is courage.

• Enver Gortash

  Our courage. The Flaming Fist's courage. They have guarded Baldur's Gate for more than a hundred summers and winters.

• Ulder Ravengard

  I stand with Gortash. I would trust no other.
