Mistress of Souls is a title given to certain Myrkul-aligned spellcasters within the Cult of Myrkul.

Involvement[edit | edit source]

The necromancers[1] of Myrkul are technically identical, bearing the same statistics and equipment. For story purposes they differ in personality, aesthetic, and function. Unlike the Zealots, Adepts, and other members of the Cult of the Absolute, the Mistresses of Souls appear to know the truth behind the tadpoles; they are fully aware of what the Absolute is and the religious hoax they're perpetrating.[2]

Combat[edit | edit source]

Mistresses of Souls are noted for their use of Incubate Death Incubate Death, which spawns additional Necromites to fight on their behalf.

8d6Fire⁠Fire

Shoot a bright flame from your fingers that explodes upon contact, torching everything in the vicinity for 8d6FireFire damage.

Spawn a skeletal involucre. After 1 turn, the involucre explodes, dealing 3d8NecroticNecrotic damage and birthing a necromite.

Surrounded by silver mist, you teleport to an unoccupied space you can see.

Tactician[edit | edit source]

Shield Shield (Reaction + Level 1 Spell Slot)
When you are about to be hit by an enemy, use your Reaction to increase your Armour Class Armour Class by 5. You also take no damage from Magic Missile Magic Missile. These effects last until the start of your next turn.

  1. ↑ Despite being named as necromancers at several points, all Mistresses of Souls are Evocation Wizards.
  2. ↑ When talking to Radija, if passing an insight check or trying to link with her own parasite, it is revealed that she does not have one and that she (along with Kressa Bonedaughter) views party members with scorn for being unwitting infected tools.
