Three Shadow Mastiffs appear out of the shadows alongside a Shadow Mastiff Alpha in the Ruined Battlefield, near X: -49 Y: 36, when the nearby ever-burning torches are destroyed. Another can possibly summoned via  Retinue of the Vampire Lord as part of the Gather Your Allies quest.
