Scrying Eye

From bg3.wiki

Scrying Eyes are constructs, typically serving the Cult of the Absolute. They are shaped like giant floating eyes.

Overview[edit section | visual editor]

Scrying Eyes observe the actions of others and relay them to the secret leaders of the Cult of the Absolute. They can report crimes and attempt to alert their allies, if they are attacked.

Scrying Eyes are at outposts of the Absolute, including the Shattered Sanctum, Grymforge, and Moonrise Towers.

If a party member is caught committing a crime against the Absolute by a Scrying Eye, then the Steel Watcher guarding the South Span Checkpoint in Rivington becomes hostile if it examines the party.[verify]

Tactics[edit section | visual editor]

  • In Tactician and Honour Mode, Ethereal Form's damage reduction (-8) is applied after resistances.
  • Scrying Eyes are especially vulnerable to ShatterShatter since it deals Thunder damage and additional bonus damage against creatures made of inorganic material. It can easily destroy a Scrying Eye in a single hit. Booming BladeBooming Blade can also be used to destroy Scrying Eyes.
  • Shoving a Scrying Eye into a chasm is another option, and does not use resources.
  • Using Improvised Melee Weapon allows for moving a Scrying Eye to a position which allows other party members to shove or throw them into a chasm.
    • Many shoving points of Moonrise Towers have low walls that prevent successful shoving/throwing of Scrying Eyes. Stacking boxes from nearby can allow a party member to reach a height that permit throwing them over the walls.
    • Characters with sufficiently high Strength can often throw Scrying Eyes directly over these walls without needing to stack boxes.
