Phase Spiders are a type of Monstrosity and non-playable race in Baldur's Gate 3. They can phase teleport to travel short distances instantly.

About

Phase spiders are arachnid-kin who dwell in the ethereal plane. Four of them can be found in the Whispering Depths, where they created  Web surfaces that warn them of intruders.

Tactics

Phase spiders are slippery opponents, capable of striking at great distances and bypassing control and area-denial effects like  Spike Growth using their  Ethereal Jaunt ability. Unprepared parties will struggle to close gaps if they cannot cross  Web surfaces in the spiders' lair. Items like  Disintegrating Night Walkers and  Spiderstep Boots help melee attackers overcome these obstacles.

 Poison Resistance goes a long way to boosting survivability, as all their attacks rely heavily on poison damage.

Notes

• Phase spiders have +1 bonuses to Strength and Dexterity on Tactician with resultant bonuses to Initiative, Armour Class, Attack rolls, and Saving throws, making an already fierce early game enemy even deadlier.
