See Conjured Rat for the Find Familiar summon.

Rats are a type of Beast and non-playable race found throughout Faerûn.

About rats

Sure, they carry disease, but there's something inherently gossip-laden about the expression of a rat, as if they know all your secrets.

Rats are long-tailed rodents who often live with and near humanoids. They are sometimes kept as pets or familiars, used in research, as food, or as working animals.

Rats can be spoken to using Speak with Animals Speak with Animals, and conjured with the Find Familiar variant Find Familiar: Rat Find Familiar: Rat.

  • The rats found around the Gauntlet of Shar have the same AC, Strength and Dexterity as a conjured rat (all lower than other rats).
