Iong

“Back of the line. I'll be the first of us to swear to the General.„
Involvement[edit | edit source]
Act Two[edit | edit source]
Iong can be first encountered in the main hall of Moonrise Towers at X: -163 Y: -176. He is part a group of new Absolutist pilgrims, consisting of him and Farimorn, Nalira, Sul and Taima. They are observed by Belub, who shows contempt for the pilgrims, and remarks on their lack of skills and usefulness. The party can either convince Belub to keep the pilgrims, or tell him to get rid of them.
- [PERSUASION] They have potential. Great warriors have grown from less. (DC 14)
- It's not our place to question the Absolute's will.
- Then get rid of them. The undeserving should be purged.
The first two options cause Belub to send them to the war camp west of Reithwin, where the pilgrims disappear. Telling Belub to get rid of the pilgrims results in their death.
Idle banter[edit | edit source]
Pilgrim Nalira: Where do you hail from, brother?
- Pilgrim Fairmorn: I was a farrier in Dessarin Valley. Then the dreams came.
- Pilgrim Iong: My brothers had the dreams too, same as me. But they wouldn't admit it.
- Pilgrim Nalira: The Absolute calls us all to Her design. Your family will answer - eventually.
- Pilgrim Iong: My brothers had the dreams too, same as me. But they wouldn't admit it.
Pilgrim Taima: To stand this close to Her power... I never thought I'd make it.
- Pilgrim Iong: I wouldn't have, if not for the lantern-bearer. To think the Absolute graces such a creature as that...
- Pilgrim Fairmorn: We are each of us threads in Her design. Even those we once called monsters.
Pilgrim Nalira: Brothers. Sister. Pray with me while we wait.
- Pilgrim Fairmorn: I'm not worthy. I... I never learned the words.
- Pilgrim Nalira: Yes, you did. She gives them to you fully formed. Can you hear Her?
- Pilgrim Fairmorn: Of many hearts, one soul. Of many thoughts, one mind...
- Pilgrim Nalira: Yes, you did. She gives them to you fully formed. Can you hear Her?
