Moonrise Towers[edit section | visual editor]
Bennel can be first encountered in Moonrise Towers, on a balcony on the eastern side of the first floor playing cards with Acolyte Daine. Bennel correctly deducts that Daine is a former Flaming Fist after noticing that she cheats,[2] and explains the blood-stained cards are a result of him killing his brother.[3]
Defending Moonrise Towers[edit section | visual editor]
If the Nightsong is freed and the Harpers launch their assault on Moonrise Towers, Bennel is killed during the subsequent battle. His corpse is situated on the bridge leading into Moonrise Towers proper, at X: -152 Y: -112.

Idle banter[edit section | visual editor]
Bennel will occassionally chat with fellow acolyte Daine:
- Acolyte Daine
- I'm sick as shit of looking at your mug. The sooner we march, the better.
- Zealot Bennel
- The General's just wrapping up a few loose ends. Besides - city's going nowhere.
- Acolyte Daine
- Not 'til we get there, anyway.
- Zealot Bennel
- You were Flaming Fist before this, weren't you lass?
- Acolyte Daine
- Save your 'lasses' for when you're courting. But aye - how d'you know?
- Zealot Bennel
- You cheat. Badly.
- Acolyte Daine
- Ugh. There's blood on these cards.
- Zealot Bennel
- Aye. My brother's. Had to deal with him after he struck a True Soul - claimed she was some kind of monster.
- Zealot Bennel
- Had to toss him over that terrace there.
- Acolyte Daine
- Gods.
- Zealot Bennel
- God. We belong to just the one now, remember.
Bennel will report to Z'rell:
- Disciple Z'rell
- In Her Name. Report?
- Zealot Bennel
- There are some ghouls nesting on the upper ramparts. They seem... restless.
- Disciple Z'rell
- We had best hope they don't forget themselves - or I'll have to send you out there to calm them down.
- Zealot Bennel
- I'll put some sense in their heads, Disciple.
- Disciple Z'rell
- Or some meat in their bellies, at least.
- Zealot Bennel
- All quiet, Disciple.
- Disciple Z'rell
- All quiet? Do you suppose the Absolute's enemies are resting, soldier?
- Zealot Bennel
- I - no, Disciple.
- Disciple Z'rell
- Perhaps you cannot find them - root them out - because they are your allies? Hm?
- Zealot Bennel
- I - no, mistress! I would never -
- Disciple Z'rell
- Oh, relax and let me have my fun. This paperwork grows tedious.
- Zealot Bennel
- Nothing to report, Dis-
- Disciple Z'rell
- Then why are you reporting, soldier? Interrupt me again, and you will serve Disciple Balthazar instead. Do you want that?
- Zealot Bennel
- No, Disciple. Forgiveness, Disciple.
Notes[edit section | visual editor]
- Unlike most Zealots of the Absolute, Bennel's armour is adorned with gold highlights that aren't found in any other Zealots' outfits.
- Bennel killed his brother over him hitting a True Soul, accusing the latter of being "some kind of monster". Nevertheless, it appears that his brother was a former Absolutist, as Bennel had to toss him off of Moonrise Towers.
