Spectators are a non-playable race and Aberration creature in Baldur's Gate 3. They have four eyestalks that that they can fire debilitating rays from. The spectator's multiple eyestalks allow it to fire multiple beams per turn.
“
Aggressive and greedy aberrations that believe their own forms to be the ideal, and hold all others - be it other beholders or 'lesser beings' - in contempt.
Spectators are a lesser type of Beholder. They are floating creatures with a single huge eye and four eyestalks, unlike the ten of a Beholder, from which they shoot forth deadly or debilitating ray attacks.

In Patch #7, the spectator gained a Legendary Action. When struck, the Spectator will accumulate stacks of Paranoid Dreams. When it reaches 5 stacks, it will use it's reaction to use Ocular Nightmare. The legendary action can be avoided by removing stacks of Paranoid Dreams, either by waiting for it to use an eye beam or by intentionally moving close to the Spectator to trigger Panicked Sentinel. Any eye beam reduces Paranoid Dreams counter by 1.
