About

Displacer beasts are feline, tentacled creatures resembling panthers. They often live in small groups, preferring sheltered habitats such as caves or tree hollows.

Displacer beasts can be spoken to using Speak with Animals Speak with Animals, and can be transformed into by partial-illithids with Displacer Beast Shape Displacer Beast Shape.

A displacer beast's coat is slick with illusory magic that can bend light, letting it project images of itself and turn invisible. Adventurers say you can never know a displacer beast's true location - until its claws sink into your belly, that is.

Tactics

Displacer beasts are significant combat threats. 18 strength makes them formidable attackers. while Displace Displace gives them free roam of the arena while leaving behind a double that can still dish out damage. This brute strength can be countered by targeting their low mental abilities, which make them more susceptible to manipulating or controlling effects like Fear Fear or Banishment Banishment.
