Location Atop the Netherbrain

Dominated Red Dragon is a Dragon found Atop the Netherbrain in Act Three. Always hostile and psychically enslaved by the Netherbrain, it serves as the centerpiece enemy for the final combat encounter in the game.

Overview

The Dominated Red Dragon is a Githyanki Dragon cohort that has been mind-controlled by the Netherbrain into defending the Crown of Karsus. Befitting a dragon encountered at the very end of the game, its base level and statistics are formidable even for a full-level party.

It is supported by four Illithid Arcanists that flank its rear; if the player sided against The Emperor, then the rogue mind flayer and four Dream Guardians support its front end.

Attacks and abilities

On Tactician difficulty, the Dominated Red Dragon gets Legendary Action: Draconic Fury Legendary Action: Draconic Fury, allowing it to retaliate against any harmful ability with its Fire Breath as a free reaction once per round.
